Who can shop at the Food Pantry?

The food pantry is open to residents of North Reading or those who attend a church in town. If you're eligible, please contact us first and bring a photo ID and proof of residency, like a utility bill, on your first visit.

Clients are welcome to visit the pantry twice a month, which means they can come in every other week. We provide both perishable and non-perishable foods to help supplement the groceries available from other sources.

Hours & Location

The North Reading Food Pantry is located at 150 Haverhill Street in the town center. We are open for client shopping during the following hours:

Monday mornings 9:30am - 11:00am

Monday evenings (1st & 3rd of the month) 6:30pm - 8:00pm

We are open on most Monday holidays, except Memorial Day and Labor Day. On these holidays, we are open on Tuesdays instead. Additionally, if July 4th, Christmas, or New Year's Day falls on a Monday, or if North Reading schools are canceled due to a snow day, we will inform our clients of our adjusted opening hours.

Other Services

Christian Community Service (CCS) offers various services to our clients throughout the year, including:

  • Financial Assistance: offered on an emergency and case-by-case basis

  • Holiday Dinners: served for Thanksgiving and Christmas

  • Holiday Take-a-Tag Program: provides Christmas gifts for children in the community

  • Back-to-School Drive: supplies backpacks and school supplies for local, school-age children
